Place it in a visible, accessible spot, reception, warehouse, or staff room, out of direct sunlight.
Use the provided zip-lock safety bags and tape over battery terminals. Staff and visitors can easily drop off their used batteries.

Every box is tracked and weighed at our facility, then consolidated and processed through our partner EcoBatt facility, ensuring verified recycling, responsible recovery and full traceability.
Free courier collections are available across all metro areas (excluding Darwin) and more than 3,600 regional suburbs. Outside these zones, prepaid Australia Post returns ensure nationwide access.

How much does a battery box cost?
Each box costs $99.95 (incl. GST) - this includes delivery, prepaid return, certified recycling, and a sustainability report.
How do I order one?
You can order directly on this page, or through your Close the Loop portal if you already recycle printer cartridges with us.
How do I return my full box?
If you’re in a metro area (excluding Darwin), book a free pickup through the portal.If you’re in a regional area, simply drop it off at any Australia Post outlet using the prepaid return label.
What types of batteries can I recycle?
We accept all common household and workplace batteries — including AA, AAA, 9V, button cells, rechargeable power tool batteries (under 5 kg), and most chemistries such as alkaline, lithium, and nickel-based.🚫 Not accepted: car batteries, damaged/leaking batteries, or large industrial packs.Download Full Accepted List & Safety Flyer →
Is the box fire-safe?
Yes. The box is made from UL94-certified material - silicone-coated fibreglass and flame-retardant cotton liners, ensuring safe storage and compliant transport.
How are the batteries recycled?
We partner with EcoBatt, Australia’s most advanced battery recycling facility. Every battery is tracked from pickup to processing, where valuable materials like lithium, cobalt, and zinc are recovered for reuse.
